Mussels vary in color from a creamy white to a smooth, almost pumpkin orange. Mussels are a very versatile shellfish. Mussels can be steamed and presented with garlic butter, breaded and served with a mixed salad greens or combined with other shellfish to create a flavorful Seafood Fra Diavolo. Mussels are also a wonderful complement to any lobster or fish dinner. According to the USDA, mussels are richer in Omega 3 oils than any other shellfish.
